Welcome to the North Haven Public Schools! Located in southern Connecticut, North Haven is home to approximately 24,000 residents. The North Haven School District consists of four elementary schools, a middle school, and a high school and serves approximately 3,700 students. Grades Pre-K though 5 are housed in the elementary schools, grades 6-8 in the middle school, and a comprehensive high school for close to 1,200 students in grades 9-12.
The mission of the North Haven Public Schools is to enable all students to realize their full potential as lifelong learners and responsible citizens. Curriculum and instruction are designed to provide challenging and motivating educational experiences that address the individual and diverse academic, social, and emotional needs of all students. In addition to a strong academic program beginning with a full day kindergarten program for all students entering school, the district provides a rich program in the arts and a number of extra-curricular clubs and sports. Parent involvement is encouraged and welcomed at all levels.
At the elementary level, in addition to the traditional program, two of the four schools provide another option for parents throughout the district. The Integrated Day Program is a highly individualized, multidisciplinary program made up of multi-grade classrooms in which groups of children who are of kindergarten and first grade age are placed together, another for second and third graders, and a final classroom of fourth and fifth graders.
The North Haven Middle School is organized into interdisciplinary teams consisting of language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, and world language. The effective use of technology is embedded into the curriculum of all subject areas.
North Haven High School is a state-of-the art, comprehensive high school that opened in the fall of 2005 and is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges.
We are proud of the many accomplishments of our students and staff in North Haven, and we remain committed to helping all students achieve at high levels.
