CT State Assessments
In middle school, North Haven Public School students take the Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium, which provides educators, students, and parents meaningful results with actionable data to help students succeed. With online assessments that measure students’ progress toward college and career readiness, Smarter Balanced gives the teachers of North Haven Public School information and tools to improve teaching and learning.
In high school, North Haven Public School students take the SAT exam, which measures a high school students readiness for college and provides colleges with a common data point. In the Mathematics department, we constantly prepare our students by teaching new content aligned with the Common Core State Standards. In October of the school, Freshman, Sophomores and Juniors take the PSAT, which gives valuable data to improve the teaching and learning in our district. Then Juniors then take the SAT exam in March/April.
